Room with a View
At long last, my studio is complete! I am grateful for an abundance of natural light, plenty of room for my easels and painting supplies, wall space to display my work and well-thought-out space that is such an inspiration!
I am also grateful for my husband, Frank, who insisted we build this studio and encourages me every day to keep doing what I love.
Stay tuned for what comes "Fresh Off My Easel" as I take full advantage of this blessing!
Meanwhile, you each have an open invitation to stop by anytime you are in the area for an in-person tour or to simply watch me paint. Come on over!

Here is my very first painting completed in my new studio! Amazing space, how sweet it is!
Every painting starts with an inspiration and this one started with a photo taken by a high school friend while traveling in Italy earlier this spring. When I first saw the photo, I was impressed by the composition and the way the bright, pastel buildings were framed by the dark window area that was completely in shadow. It was also striking to see how the sunlight played across the hills and illuminated the clouds far in the background, giving the scene depth and dimension. I knew this one needed to captured on canvas; thankfully my friend graciously agreed!
I feel so fortunate to have such a gorgeous and inspirational space to do what I love, and friends who are willing to share their favorite photos so I can keep on painting. Imagine my delight when my friend asked if she could buy this painting before it was even finished. Surely this is an omen that painting in my new studio holds promise - for both me and my Collectors too!
