This week's work features a realistic painting of a black Scottish Terrier lying down on a wooden deck. The textured strokes capture his wiry fur, and attention to detail is given to its beard and eyebrows. The light and dark shades on the decking boards create depth and give a sense of the sunlight coming from above. The sunlight also creates a glow on the right side of McFie's face, helping to draw focus to him as the subject.

McFie is a very special commissioned piece, and this was a favorite spot for him to sit and gaze over the backyard, contemplating his domain. He looks so regal to me!

If you have a cherished pet photo you would like to have painted, please message me. It is incredibly humbling when people trust me to capture their precious fur babies on canvas.

Warm regards,

Barbara
